Terms of use and data licence

1. The database is open. The Boxerbook database (boxers, bouts, results, title reigns, events, promoters, the Boxerbook rating and its history) is made available under the Open Database License (ODbL) v1.0. Its individual contents are available under the Database Contents License (DbCL) v1.0. You are free to copy, distribute, use, modify and build on the database, including commercially, as long as you keep to the three conditions below.

Attribute. Any public use of the database or of a work produced from it must credit Boxerbook with a link: Contains data from Boxerbook (https://boxerbook.com), © QuadroM LLC, licensed under ODbL. On the web, the credit must link to https://boxerbook.com; in print or on air, name Boxerbook.

Share alike. If you publicly use an adapted version of the database, or a database you made from it, you must offer that adapted database under the ODbL too.

Keep open. You may not use technical measures or licences on a redistributed copy that restrict what the ODbL allows, unless you also offer an unrestricted copy.

2. Sources. The database is compiled from open and official sources: Wikidata (CC0), Wikipedia record tables and lists (CC BY-SA 4.0; where Boxerbook shows text taken from Wikipedia it is marked and remains under CC BY-SA), results published by sanctioning bodies and athletic commissions, publisher rankings quoted as facts and attributed to their publishers, and photos from Wikimedia Commons under their own licences. Boxerbook does not copy paid databases. Each fact on the site links to where it came from.

3. The Boxerbook rating. The rating formula is published in full at /rating/method and may be recomputed by anyone. Rating values and lists are part of the database and may be reused under the ODbL. When you quote them, call them the "Boxerbook Rating" and do not present them as another body's ranking. Positions in the rating are never sold, sponsored or negotiated; see the method page.

4. Trademarks and other content. "Boxerbook", the glove mark and "Boxerbook Rating" are trademarks of QuadroM LLC. The licences above cover the database; they do not grant rights to the trademarks, the site design, the editorial texts or the software, which are © QuadroM LLC, all rights reserved. You may use the names to say truthfully that your work contains Boxerbook data.

5. Using the site. You may read and link to any page. Automated access is welcome through the sitemaps and, when available, the API and bulk dumps; please identify your client, respect robots.txt and keep to reasonable request rates. Do not try to disrupt the service, scrape personal contact details or misrepresent data as Boxerbook's when it is not.

6. Accuracy. We assemble the catalogue carefully and show both versions when sources disagree, but the data is provided "as is", without warranty of completeness or accuracy, and is not advice for betting or any other decision. Corrections are welcome through the report link on every bout page.

7. Privacy. Boxerbook sets no tracking cookies and shows no advertising. Submissions you send through the report form (your message and, if you give it, your contact) are stored to review the correction and are not published without your consent. Hosting and basic traffic statistics are provided by Cloudflare.

8. Boxers, trainers and gyms. If a page is about you and something is wrong or missing, write to us; corrections to facts are free and verified against sources. Data about professional bouts is a public sporting record and is not removed on request, but we correct errors and add context.

9. Changes and contact. We may update these terms; the effective date above changes when we do, and the database licence will not become more restrictive for data already published. Questions, licensing beyond the ODbL (for example attribution-free use), partnerships: Katrina@katrinaOS.com.
